Elections 2014

Who Can Vote?

Individual Members
Members who are 18 years of age or older and who joined Assiniboine Credit Union on or before February 28, 2013 may vote. This is the last date memberships were approved prior to the mailing of the election package, and as such, an accurate member register as of the record date for this Annual General Meeting has been determined. Outlook Financial is a division of Assiniboine Credit Union and those who choose to do business with Outlook Financial are members of Assiniboine Credit Union and entitled to vote. Each individual member has only one vote and joint members have one vote between them.

If you are the Power of Attorney for a member, you can cast a ballot on their behalf, in their name.

You may only cast one ballot in the election of directors, unless you are a member with a personal membership and you are also the voting representative of a Body Corporate or Association with a business membership, in which case you may vote once in your personal capacity and once on behalf of the Body Corporate or Association.

Body Corporate or Association
A Body Corporate or Association that joined Assiniboine Credit Union on or before February 28, 2013 may appoint a person to vote on behalf of the Corporation or Association. A person may vote on behalf of only one Body Corporate or Association.

Voter Confidentiality
No one at Assiniboine Credit Union will have access to the ballots. All votes, whether online or by mail, will be received and tabulated by our independent scrutineers, ensuring voter confidentiality. The results will be announced at our Annual General Meeting on April 22, 2013. Following the Annual General Meeting, all ballots will be destroyed by our independent scrutineers.

There will not be voting on the election of directors at the Annual General Meeting, except in the event of a tie for the last available position on the board, in which case, a vote to break the tie will be held at the meeting.
