Ask the Candidates

Between March 14 and April 6, 2011 all candidates will be available by email to answer your questions. Candidate email addresses are listed on their individual web pages on the Ask the Candidates website. If you do not have access to email and wish to ask a question of a candidate, please contact Jocelyn Peifer Ross at (1.204) 258.3424.

All candidates were invited to submit a brief message to the members which you will find on their individual pages, along with their biography and answers to questions the board asked them. Their answers are shown as submitted.

To ensure a fair endorsement process, the Nominating Committee developed interview questions and assessment tools using the ideal board composition. Candidates were asked the same prepared questions and were assessed using these tools. The Nominating Committee then made a recommendation to the board on candidate endorsement.

This year, six eligible members put their names forward as candidates. The candidates are (in alphabetical order by last name):

• Gary Grvais
• Vera Goussaert (incumbent)
• Crystal Laborero
• Arvind Pal Singh Matharu

Of these six candidates, the board has endorsed the following candidates:

ACU members have the option of voting online or by mail-in ballot. We encourage you to exercise your democratic right by voting in the election and we strongly encourage you to vote online.
