What are RRSP Cashable GICs and High Interest Savings Accounts?
GICs are term deposits made for a particular period of time. Sometimes you don’t want to risk putting your money in investments that can’t guarantee a profit. GICs have a guaranteed interest rate with a set time period of investment, usually 1-to-5 years. With that stable interest rate you know what you’re getting, and when you’re getting it.
A High Interest Savings Account is a way for you to earn interest on your money, while maintaining maximum flexibility while knowing your deposits and interest are 100% guaranteed. With a High Interest Savings Account, your money is always available to you.
Why invest in Outlook RRSPs?
When it comes to saving for retirement, it's best to start early, and RRSPs are the best vehicle to maximize those savings.
Because RRSP contributions are tax-deductible within certain limits, you save now by lowering your taxes. Because RRSP interest isn’t taxed until you withdraw it, leaving it until you retire allows your interest to compound during your income-earning years.
We make it easier than ever to set up and contribute to an RRSP. You can invest in our RRSP Cashable GICs or our flexible RRSP High-Interest Savings Accounts. You can withdraw from your cashable RRSP GIC at any time, so you’re secure in knowing you have the money if you really need it. Outlook GICs offer competitive rates, and a secure way to earn more from your savings – and you get the added security of knowing your deposits and interest are both 100% guaranteed without limit*.
The minimum withdrawal amount is $1000. You must maintain a minimum balance of $1000, or you have the option to cash your entire RRSP GIC at the early withdrawal rate (prior to February 15, 2010 2%, February 15, 2010 - Present 1%)
With a RRSP High-Interest Savings Account, get interest that’s calculated daily and paid monthly back into your savings account with no maintenance fees, and no minimum balance.
Save $1,000 in your RRSP High-Interest Savings Account, and then transfer your money into an RRSP Cashable GIC for even greater returns.
